My WPRB "Transitional Soundscapes" playlist for June 16th with the Duck
I had the duck on my show once again. He is a duck who talks. He has a bit of an attitude and can be belligerent at times but he is a talking duck nonetheless. He also had a habit of not playing songs that fit into the format of my show.
He used the mic that was in the studio next to my chair.

I told him to put on Meat Beat Manifesto and he started saying "Menudo". I was like, "Noooo!!".

When I told him to cue up and play Skinny Puppy "Rodent" he instead snuck in Barry Manilow "Its A Miracle" and spun about 30 seconds of the song before I stopped it and yelled at him on the mic.

I then told him to cue up a request for Kraftwerk and he instead snuck in The BeeGee's "Tragedy". The song went for 30 seconds before I stopped it. Once again I yelled at him.

Also when I told him I was going to play a song by And One, he said "And Two?". Then I said "No!!! And One!!!" He replied "And Who? And Three?"
I also told him I was going to put duct tape on his bill if he didn't cut it out.

I plan on having him on my show again in about 2 months or so. This time he better wise up, LOLOL!!!

It was quite ironic that my friend Sierra from Texas tuned in JUST when I started playing Lords Of Acid and that is one of her favorite bands.
Also when I started playing Laibach, another listener called me up asking if I was playing Rammstein since he felt it sounded so similar.
After this Sierra IM'd me asking if I was playing Rammstein since she too felt the same way.

Tonight I will have a talking duck on my "Transitional Soundscapes" radio show!!!!!
Tonight I will have a talking duck on my radio show. This is going to be his 4th time on my show and it is going to be quite interesting to say the least. He is a duck who talks. He has alittle bit of an attitude and he tends to try and do things his way, but he is a duck and one who talks!!!! He is already giving me a hard time about wanting to spin Menudo, The Bee Gees and The Partridge Family on my show and I had to make it clear that this music will not fit into the genres of the music that I normally spin.
This is going to make for a hell of a show.
    Tune in!!

My WPRB "Transitional Soundscapes" playlist for June 11th
I really had a great time doing this show. I spoke to my friend Mihri who lives in Istanbul Turkey when I was at home earlier in the day on AIM and she told me that she would wake up at 4am ( her time in Turkey ) to allow herself to tune into my radio show ( 9pm my time in the East Coast-USA ). I was so excited to have her tune into my show. She woke up at 3:45 am her time and IM'd me at 8:50pm to let me know she was tuning in. I asked whether she would be able to understand my english and she said she might if I speak slowly. This was totally my intention.
At 9pm I spun 2 songs and afterwards I went on the mic to welcome her. I said "Merhaba Mihrimah" which is "Hello how are you" in Turkish. I proceeded to talk about her tuning into my show and she was so excited to hear me mention her on the radio. she said I mentioned her name so well. She also recorded my voice on her cell phone as I was speaking. It was so cute. I told her online that I dedicated my show to her. I decided to spin a set of synthpop-electro-dancy music and catered it to her. After a few more songs I proceeded to talk about her some more on the mic. Just before the B12 song she mentioned she had to go back to sleep, so I played that B12 song for her and she recognized it since I gave her the link to listen to it 3 weeks ago while we were chatting online. (I told her that I wanted to dance with her to it in NYC while we would go sight seeing. She mentioned that "maybe it will can be a day." I so look forward to this.
I really was excited to have her tune into my show. It was such a great feeling. I look forward to seeing her when she comes to NYC to go to school. Its like a dream.
Once she signed off, I started playing a harder set of music. I also wound up spinning my show an extra 45 minutes since the next DJ didn't show up. All in all I spun for 3 hours and 45 minutes. A great time and thanks to Mihri. Ben Cok Mutlu. :)

It was funny. One of my listeners had commented that he was not used to hearing me speak on the mic so early in my show and he could detect that I was in a really good mood. I mentioned to him why on both accounts. :)

    Video Projection at QXT's
I have been working at QXT's as a video projectionist 2 times a month, but last month I have expanded to 3 times a month. My normal schedule is as follows:

    3rd saturday of the month
    4th friday of the month
    4th saturday of the month

For the 4th friday, we have our EVERYTHING 80's night so I tend to play 80 percent of 80's videos from my collection of over 250 80's videos.

I have been doing some amazing and off the wall video mixes or what i call "video sequence mixing". I plan on posting some of my crazy video mixes on here at some point.
I now utilize 4 separate video sources along with 4 video monitors. The monitors I use for setting up my cue points and for monitoring what particular segments I want to show on the projector at any given time during a video mix session. I can effectively video mix between 2 to 4 separate video sources and I do it to the beat of the music at times.
My sources are 2 DVD players and 2 VCR's.

I really love doing this type of thing at the club. Its effectively an art form for me to mix the videos together the way I do it in conjunction with the music AS WELL AS to show my off the wall sense of humor. This explains for some of the off the wall and crazy mixes I put together on the screen.

I will be VJing at QXT's tonight ( Everything 80's) and tomorrow night.
    Tonight:
I will be VJing on the main floor showing a ton of 80's music videos on the huge screen over the dance floor.

In the Crypt, Guest DJs George Soul and Blindvision

Confession visits QXTs. Taking the guest spot while DJ Cub is gallivanting throughout Europe, George Soul and partner in crime BlindVision will have everyone tearing up the Crypt playing everyone’s favorites. 80’s, Synthpop, Electro, all forgotten favorites and more will be uncovered for everyone’s pleasure. Come see the only Blind DJ around. As they say all his other senses have become stronger.
Rob ( DJ Blindvision ) is amazing. He does some amazing beatmatching.

He is the perfect example of a person not letting their handicap stop them from doing what they love. Rob ( DJ Blindvision ) unfortunately lost his vision about 5 years ago BUT he never stopped DJing. DJing is a passion of his and it continues on.

Tonight you will have a chance to hear exactly what I am talking about.

I used to spin 2 residencies with him in the early 2000’s in Elizabeth NJ so I know his style well.

I also plan on having DJ Blindvision on my "Transitional Soundscapes" radio show in August. He will spin an hour long set of music. The theme for my show will be an exploration of the "human spirit" and how some people never give up their passions, regardless of handicaps.

So tonight, goto the Crypt and check him out!!!

He may be DJ Blindvision but he never lost his sights for DJing.
